The Northern Galaxy Free World Covenant (NGFC), the Free World Covenant or simply The Covenant, is a state that is situated at the northern edge of the galaxy.
History[]
The covenant have their origins with the Sanghvi Mantle. The Sanghvi graced three of the worlds within the northern quadrant, on which the three major species lived.
The strong and warlike Krell were offered technology and advancements to protect the sector, the graceful and noble Uloron were chosen to lead diplomacy and stately affairs in the region whilst the industrious Jahk'na were chosen to oversee labour and technological advancements. These races may have had their differences, but they could all agree that working together was preferable to trying to make it on their own.
Like in many other fringe worlds in the mantle, the Sanghvi offered assistance in exchange for cooperation, similarly to the Ayr Empire and their protectorate program. Under a their new banner, the three races grew closely knit through cooperation and expanded their reach further into the region around them. After some time, three more systems had joined Grand Council with the addition of several colonies serving different purposes.
However, at the end of the first Kanad-Sanghvi War when the Sanghvi Mantle imploded into civil war, the then satellite federation was without support. Determined to not to let any of their hard work go to waste they decided to form their own independent state, The Free World Covenant.
At the Covenant's forming, some changes had to be made to civil rights and governmental structure to ensure the prosperity and survival of the new state. Some of these changes were unpopular to such a degree that unrest arose in some parts of the federation. At risk for their own civil war, then High Councilor Luonoa instructed the now infamous Krell General Rekis Dra Kir and his Crimson Wolves to make short work of the insurrectionists.
After stabilizing their own territory, the Covenant have done like many other states on the border of the Renegade Quadrant and bunkered up to defend against pirates. After the reformation of the Sanghvi Mantle, cooperations between the Covenant and the Mantle have resumed, but they have declined re-integration. Similarly, they have enjoy a moderate friendship with the Ayr and their Empire, but have declined to become a protectorate member.
